Political Decisions and Resolutions of CPC–AKEL

This volume brings together key documents that record significant aspects of the history and political activity of AKEL, constituting valuable historical and archival material. Making these texts publicly accessible serves as an important resource for learning and study, both for the wider public and for the research community. On this basis, the Promitheas Research Institute undertook the collection of all political decisions adopted at the congresses of CPC–AKEL from 1926 onwards and prepared their publication in a single, comprehensive volume.



The information contained in these decisions goes beyond descriptive or purely informational content. The texts include substantive analyses of the international and local historical context and situate the party’s political action within it. As such, the volume offers a detailed portrayal of both the modern history of Cyprus and the historical trajectory of the party itself. The reader follows the emergence of a political party under adverse conditions, its modes of action and organisation, and, above all, its analysis of the problems facing the country and its people, along with the political proposals it advanced over time.
