Digital Archive of Contemporary Political and Social History – Rolandos Katsiaounis

A key pillar of INEP's operation is the creation, development, and maintenance of the digital archive "Contemporary Political and Social History – Rolandos Katsiaounis." The aim of the archive is to serve as a center for the preservation of contemporary Cypriot history and the broader left-wing movement. The archive is openly accessible to researchers and the general public and contains several thousand documents from the beginning to the end of the 20th century. The aim is to serve the research community in its search for historical documents and archival material, so as to boost research into contemporary Cypriot history and attract researchers and academics seeking to highlight issues that have not yet been adequately addressed by historical research.

The name "Digital Archive of Contemporary Political and Social History, Rolandos Katsiaounis" was given in honor of the late academic and member of the INEP Board of Directors, Rolandos Katsiaounis. Rolandos was a leading figure in historical science in Cyprus with a multifaceted body of work, which epitomises the type of analysis that we aspire to promote as Prometheus. Rolandos Katsiaounis was a historian who remained true to the dictates of his science, with a penetrating insight and interpretation of events that owed much to the methodological framework he adopted for his work.

The Digital Archive database is located at the offices of the Promitheas Research Institute. All INEP subscribers have access to the archive.
