Necessity: The Seed of History

This edition is the English translation of the autobiographical book Πώς η Ανάγκη Γίνεται Ιστορία (2016) by former President of the Republic of Cyprus, Demetris Christofias. Through a three-part narrative structure, the book traces Christofias’s personal and political formation, his rise within the political system, and the years of governance and challenge.



The book offers a first-hand account of Cypriot history from the second half of the twentieth century to the present day.
