NECESSITY THE SEED OF HISTORY

The publication is a translation of the Greek title How Necessity Becomes History (2016) by the former President of the Republic of Cyprus, Dimitris Christofias.

Professor and former Minister of Education, Dr. Andreas Dimitriou, states that through this book, one can relive the history of Cyprus from the second half of the 20th century to the present day.

The first chapters describe his early childhood and adolescence in Dikomo and his studies in Moscow. These were the years of personal and political formation. Chapters 8-22 describe the years of rise and political establishment from the coup d'état to his election as President of the Republic. Chapters 8-22 describe the years of his rise and political establishment, from the coup d'état to his election as Speaker of the House. Chapters 23-31 describe the years of power and trial.
